Welcome to the official website for the Joplin Table Tennis (Ping Pong) Club

History

In early 2014, under the direction of Joplin Parks & Recreation, Janus Lazarus organized a table tennis club for the city and community of Joplin. He started the club with three friends and a few tables in March 2014 at 321 South School Avenue, Joplin, Missouri provided by the city.

On April 1, 2014, Lazarus established the Joplin Table Tennis club. The club grew so fast that the building could not accommodate the club. The city moved the club to Memorial Hall, 212 West 8th Street, Joplin, MO 64801 on August 14, 2014. Since then, the club has rapidly expanded and continues to grow in the number of players and equipment quality. The club is open to the public and holds practices twice a week. The club hosted its first tournament successfully in November of 2014 with over two dozen participants in both singles and doubles events, and has continued hosting local and regional tournaments, which involve players from beginners to advanced USATT rated players.
